Sketch

I started with a soft red pencil sketch in my sketchbook to define the frog’s shape, pose, and personality. This step helps me plan the composition and capture the character before adding any color.

Masking Fluid

I applied masking fluid to protect the areas I wanted to keep white or highlight later. It acts as a barrier while painting, especially useful for tiny details or bright spots.

Watercolors

Using layers of watercolor, I added color, shadows, and texture. I love how the paint flows and blends naturally, giving the frog a soft, organic look.

Final touches in Procreate

Once the painting was dry, I removed the masking fluid and scanned the artwork. In Procreate, I refined small details, enhanced contrast, and added a few digital highlights—just enough to make the little frog pop!
